1 Grading Basis
1.1 Seed grading is based on variety purity, cleanliness, and germination rate, among which variety purity is the main grading standard. 1.2 If one of the two items of cleanliness and germination rate is one level lower than the variety purity level, and one or both of the two items are higher than the variety purity, the grade shall be determined according to the purity level.
1.3 Where both the purity and germination rate are one level lower than the purity of the variety, one of the two is the same level as the purity of the variety and the other is two levels lower than the purity of the variety, or one of the two is one level lower than the purity of the variety and the other is two levels lower, the purity of the variety shall be graded one level lower. 1.4 Where both the purity and germination rate are two levels lower than the purity of the variety, the purity of the variety shall be graded two levels lower, but both shall not be lower than the lowest standard.

Appendix A
Standard clause explanation
(Supplement)
The meaning of original seed: the seed produced by the purified and rejuvenated varieties newly bred by the breeding unit and starting to be propagated and promoted or the descendants of the original seed, is called Af
original seed.
A.2 Non-quarantine pests and diseases shall be restricted by each province (municipality, autonomous region) according to specific circumstances. A.3 This standard adopts a three-level system, which is different from the four-level system of the national standard for crop seeds. The reason is that according to field trials and indoor identification, the differences between the second-level improved varieties and the third-level improved varieties are not obvious, so the third-level improved varieties are merged into the second level. At the same time, the seeds are divided into too many levels, which is not convenient for production application.
