This standard is formulated for the first time based on experimental research, labor hygiene and epidemiological survey data, and with reference to relevant foreign occupational exposure limits. It is a hygienic standard used for workplace environmental monitoring and health supervision. This standard will be implemented from May 1, 2002. This standard is proposed by the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China. The drafting units of this standard are: School of Public Health of Harbin Medical University, Health and Epidemic Prevention Station of Weifang City, Shandong Province, and Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Institute of Renqing City. The main drafters of this standard are: Cang Enzhi, Zhang Zhongyi, Huang Huiping, and Zhang Baolin.
