This standard applies to Jilin Changbai Mountain Ginseng approved for protection by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China in accordance with the provisions on protection of origin. 2 Normative references

The scope of protection of the origin of Jilin Changbai Mountain ginseng is limited to the countries approved for protection by the national quality supervision, inspection and quarantine administrative department in accordance with the provisions on protection of products of origin, see Appendix A. Including Fusongji, Jingxue County, Changziji, Jiangshi, Jiangyuan County, Ji'an City, Tonghua County, Huinan County, Antu County, Jiaohua City, Wangqing County, Hunchun City, Jiaohe City, Huadian City in Changzi Mountain Area of Qinglin Province. 4 Terms and Definitions

6 Requirements
6.1 Geographical Environment
The origin of Jilin Changbai Mountain Ginseng is the Jilin Province area of Changbai Mountain Range, that is, the Changbai Mountain forest area at 40°5155\～44°30'02\ north latitude and 1251657~131°1912 east longitude, with a forest coverage rate of more than 70% and an altitude of 400m~1000m.
6.2 Climate Environment
Mid-temperate humid and mid-cold climate zone, continental monsoon climate, effective accumulated temperature 1900℃～2800℃, annual average temperature 1.6℃~6.5℃, average temperature in January -18℃, average temperature in July~August 20℃～21℃, annual rainfall 760mm*-1000mm (precipitation 400m in July-August), frost-free period 90d~150d. Annual sunshine hours are about 2300h. 6.3 Planting Environment
Ginseng land should be selected away from residential areas, more than 50m away from highways or railways. Convenient transportation, close to water sources, and easy for standardized production management.

6.4.1 Variety
