This standard series was proposed by the Environmental Protection Design Technology Center of the Ministry of Chemical Industry and jointly compiled by the Jilin Chemical Company Design Institute and the Environmental Protection Design Technology Center of the Ministry of Chemical Industry. This standard is compiled to guide the noise generated by equipment in the production process of chemical enterprises in the process of selecting silencers for noise prevention and control.
Currently, there are many manufacturers producing silencers with different models. During the preparation of this standard series, we conducted a survey on the larger silencer manufacturers in China, collected and summarized their performance, characteristics, models, etc. On this basis, we unified the models and listed a comparison table of old and new models at the end of the standard to facilitate selection. Due to the wide variety of silencers currently available, this standard series only makes serialized regulations for commonly used fan silencers, air compressor silencers and exhaust vent silencers, and other types of silencers are not included.

1 General provisions
Scope of application
The silencers in this standard series are suitable for the silencer of various noise-generating equipment in chemical production. Different types of silencers are selected according to the type, technical parameters and specifications of the sound-generating equipment. The maximum sound absorption volume is within 5OdB(A). 1.2 Classification
Silencers can be divided into five categories according to the silencer principle and structure, and each category is divided into different types, as shown in Table 1.2. In actual engineering, they can be divided into fan silencers, air compressor silencers, exhaust jet silencers, etc. according to the type of equipment.

Resistive silencer has good mid- and high-frequency silencer performance. 1.3.2 Resistant silencer This type of silencer uses the principles of sound wave reflection and related resonance to absorb or hinder the propagation of sound energy. It is suitable for eliminating mid- and low-frequency noise or narrow-band noise. 1.3.3 Micro-perforated plate silencer
This type of sliding silencer is a both resistive and anti-resonance silencer based on a microporous acoustic structure. This silencer can withstand the impact of high airflow speed, is resistant to high temperature, is not afraid of water and moisture, and can withstand a certain amount of dust.
1.3.4 Composite silencer
In order to achieve a wide-band, high-absorption silencer effect, resistive and reactive silencers can be combined into a composite silencer. This type of silencer has both resistive sound-absorbing materials and acoustic filtering devices such as resonators, expansion chambers, and perforated screens. 1.3.5 Expansion and pressure-reducing, small-hole injection exhaust vent silencer An exhaust vent silencer designed to reduce high-temperature, high-speed, and high-pressure exhaust jet noise.
From the structural point of view, fan silencers and air compressor silencers are mostly resistive or impedance compound silencers, and exhaust jet silencers are mostly throttling and pressure reduction, expansion and speed, or small emulsion injection type silencers.
