This standard is modified to adopt ISO15988:2003 "Plastic Film and Sheet Biaxially Stretch Polyester Film". This standard replaces GB/T16958-1997 "Biaxially Stretch Polyester Film for Packaging". This standard specifies the product specifications, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of biaxially stretch polyester film for packaging. This standard is applicable to film materials made of ethylene terephthalate resin as the main raw material, which are made by biaxial stretching process and can be used alone or in combination with other films. Compared with GB/T16958-1997, the main changes of this standard are as follows: - Added classification method; - Deleted Appendix A of the original standard, and included the requirements of oxygen permeability coefficient and water vapor permeability coefficient in the main text; - Modified the grade requirements of the product; - Modified the sampling plan. This standard specifies the product specifications, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of biaxially oriented polyester film for packaging (hereinafter referred to as polyester film). This standard is applicable to film materials made of ethylene terephthalate resin as the main raw material and produced by biaxially oriented process, which can be used alone or in combination with other films.
This standard is modified and adopted ISO15988:2003 "Plastic Film and Sheet Biaxially oriented Polyester Film".
Compared with ISO15988:2003, the main differences of this standard are as follows:
---The test method standards are all national standards;
---The thickness deviation is divided into two different levels;
---The requirements for the inner diameter deviation of the film roll are deleted;
---The requirements for the length of the film roll, the number of joints and the length of each section are added;
---The gloss and friction coefficient items are added;
---The name of the thermal stability item is changed to thermal shrinkage;
---The performance indicators of some items are improved;
---Inspection rules and transportation and storage regulations are added.
This standard replaces GB/T16958-1997 "Biaxially oriented polyester film for packaging".
Compared with GB/T16958-1997, the main changes of this standard are as follows:

1 Scope

This standard specifies the product specifications, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of biaxially oriented polyester film for packaging (hereinafter referred to as polyester film).
This standard is applicable to film materials made of ethylene terephthalate resin as the main raw material and produced by biaxially oriented process, which can be used alone or in combination with other films.

The terms and definitions established in GB/T2035 and the following terms and definitions apply to this standard. 3.1
Biaxially oriented polyester film Biaxially oriented polyester film is a film made of polyester resin as the main raw material, which is melt-extruded and cast into sheets, and then stretched, oriented, heat-set and cooled in the longitudinal and transverse directions under certain process conditions. 1

4 Product classification
4.1 Polyester films are divided into corona films and non-corona films according to their types. 4.2 Polyester films are divided into films with barrier requirements and films without barrier requirements according to their performance. 5 Requirements
5.1 Appearance quality
5.1.1 The film should be free of obvious cracks, looseness, wrinkles, flaws, impurities and any defects that affect applicability. 5.1.2 The joints in the same roll of film should be clearly marked, and the joint position can be judged from the side of the film roll. The supply and demand parties should reach an agreement on the method of marking joints.
5.2 Sizes and specifications

6.1. Standard environment for sample state adjustment and testing

Standard environment for sample state adjustment and testing shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T2918. The test environment conditions are 23℃±2℃, relative humidity 50%10%, and the sample is pretreated for more than 8h under this condition. 6.2 Sampling method
Remove 3 to 5 layers of film on the outer surface of the film roll to be tested and sample and prepare samples according to the requirements of the inspection items. 6.3 Appearance
Visually inspect under natural light or 40W fluorescent lamp, and the sampling area shall not be less than 1m2. 6.4 Size and specifications
6.4.1 Thickness
Carry out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T6672. The instrument measurement accuracy shall not be less than 1μm, and the number of thickness test layers shall be sampled according to Table 5. 3

6.5 Physical and mechanical properties
6.5.1 Tensile strength and elongation at break

Test according to GB/T1040.3. The test specimen adopts type 2, a strip with a length of 150mm and a width of 15mm±0.1mm, a fixture spacing of 100mm, and a test speed of 100mm/min±10mm/min. Test 5 longitudinal and 5 transverse specimens respectively, and take the average value of each.
6.5.2 Thermal shrinkage
6.5.2.1 Test instruments
a) Oven, temperature accuracy ±1℃;
b) Steel ruler, graduation 0.5mm;
c) Chronometer.
6.5.2.2 Test specimens
The test specimens are 150 mm long and 20 mm wide. There are 5 specimens in each direction. Draw an initial mark of 100 mm in the middle of the test specimen, 25 mm away from both ends.
6.5.2.3 Test steps
Adjust the oven temperature to 150°C ± 3°C, quickly put the test specimen in and start timing. The test specimen is placed flat and kept for 30 minutes before being taken out. After cooling to the test environment temperature, measure the length of the test specimen in the direction and calculate the thermal shrinkage rate. Take the arithmetic mean as the measurement result, accurate to one decimal place.
6.5.2.4 The calculation of thermal shrinkage rate is shown in formula (3). Where:

Perform in accordance with the provisions of GB/T14216.
6.5.7 Oxygen permeability coefficient
Test the oxygen permeability according to the provisions of GB/T1038, and calculate the oxygen permeability coefficient. 6.5.8 Water vapor permeability coefficient

7.1 Inspection classification
7.1.1 Factory inspection
Inspect the appearance and size specifications of the product in accordance with the requirements of 5.1 and 5.2. 7.1.2 Type inspection
Type inspection items are all items specified in Chapter 5. Type inspection should be carried out when one of the following situations occurs: a) When new products or old products are transferred to the factory for trial production and identification; b) After formal production, the material formula and production process have major changes that may affect product performance; c) After formal production, a type inspection is carried out once a year; d) When the product is stopped for 6 months and then resumed; e) When the national quality supervision and inspection agency proposes to conduct a type inspection. 7.2 Sampling
7.2.1 Batch

Products are inspected in batches. Products with the same raw materials, the same process and the same structure are considered as one inspection batch, and the maximum batch size shall not exceed 50t.
7.2.2 Sampling plan
7.2.2.1 Appearance, dimensions, specifications and requirements shall be in accordance with the provisions of GB/T2828.1, with special inspection level S-3, acceptance quality limit AQL=6.5, and normal inspection one sampling plan. 7.2.2.2 Physical and mechanical properties and hygienic properties A roll shall be randomly selected from the qualified products and inspected in accordance with the provisions of 5.3 and 5.4. 7.3 Determination
7.3.1 The inspection results of appearance, dimensions and specifications shall be individually determined according to the provisions of 5.1 and 5.2. If there are unqualified items, the volume shall be determined to be unqualified. The qualified batch shall be determined according to Table 6.

7.3.2 The results of the physical and mechanical properties inspection shall be individually judged according to the requirements of the items in 5.3. If one item is unqualified, the unqualified items shall be double sampled and re-tested in the original batch. If the re-test results are still unqualified, the batch shall be unqualified. 7.3.3 The hygienic properties shall be judged according to the requirements of 5.4. If one item is unqualified, the batch shall be judged unqualified. 8 Marking, packaging, transportation and storage
8.1 Marking
Product marking shall comply with the provisions of GB/T191. The corona film should be marked with the corona surface, the polyester film roll should have a product certificate, and the outside of the packaging should have the manufacturer's name, address, implementation standard number, trademark, product name, specifications, length, batch number, production date, etc. 8.2 Packaging
Each roll of polyester film should be protected by padding at both ends, wrapped with film, and tied tightly. Special packaging shall be agreed upon by the supply and demand parties. 8.3 Transportation
Polyester film should be handled with care when transporting to prevent mechanical collision and sun and rain. 8.4 Purchase and storage
Polyester film should be stored in a clean, dry, ventilated warehouse, away from heat sources and avoid direct sunlight. The storage period of corona-treated film is 12 months from the date of production, and that of non-corona-treated film is 24 months. It can still be used after passing the inspection after exceeding the storage period. 6
