Foreword
In order to implement the "Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Atmospheric Pollution Prevention Law of the People's Republic of China", control the exhaust of motorcycles and mopeds This standard is specially formulated to reduce the emission of pollutants and improve ambient air quality. This standard is a complete revision of GB/T5466-93 "Measurement of Motorcycle Exhaust Pollutants at Idle Speed" and a partial revision of GB14621-93 "Motorcycle Exhaust Pollutant Emission Standards". This standard completely replaces GB/T5466-93 "Idle Speed ??Method for Measuring Exhaust Pollutants from Motorcycles" and replaces the emission limits for measuring exhaust pollutants by idle speed method in GB14621-93 "Emission Standards for Motorcycle Exhaust Pollutants" . This standard adds measurement requirements and measurement limits for mopeds. From the date of publication of this standard, the following standards are abolished: GB/T5466-93 "Measurement of Motorcycle Exhaust Pollutants at Idle Speed" GB14621--93 "Motorcycle Exhaust Pollutant Emission Standards" Appendix A of this standard is Informative appendix.
This standard is proposed by the Science and Technology Standards Department of the State Environmental Protection Administration. The main drafting units of this standard: Tianjin Motorcycle Technology Center, National Motorcycle Quality Supervision and Inspection Center. This standard was approved by the State Environmental Protection Administration on June 14, 2002. The State Environmental Protection Administration is responsible for interpreting this standard. 464wwW.bzxz.Net
1 Scope
Emission limits and measurement methods of exhaust pollutants from motorcycles and mopeds
(idle speed method)
GB14621—2002||tt| |This standard specifies the volumetric concentration limits, measuring instruments and methods for carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) emissions from motorcycles and mopeds under rapid operating conditions. This standard applies to motorcycles and mopeds equipped with spark-ignition engines. 2 Referenced standards
The provisions contained in the following standards constitute provisions of this standard by being quoted in this standard. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision and parties using this standard should explore the possibility of using the latest version of the standard listed below. This standard adopts the following definitions:
3.1 Motorcycle
refers to the vehicle with a curb weight less than Two-wheeled or blue-wheeled motorcycles equipped with spark ignition engines that weigh 400kg, have an engine displacement greater than 50mL, or have a maximum design speed greater than 50km/h. 3.2 Light motorcycle
refers to a two- or three-wheeled light motorcycle equipped with a spark ignition engine with a curb weight of less than 400kg, an engine displacement of not more than 50mL, and a maximum design speed of not more than 50km/h. 3.3 Exhaust pollutants
refer to carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) emitted from the exhaust pipes of motorcycles and mopeds. 3.4 Idle speed condition
The driving wheels of the vehicle are in a stationary state, the engine is running normally, the throttle of the carburetor is in the minimum position, the choke is fully open, and the speed complies with the vehicle instruction manual.
3.5 Volume concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) The volume concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) is the volume percentage of carbon monoxide (CO) in the exhaust, expressed in %; the volume concentration of hydrocarbons (HC) The volume concentration is the volume per million of hydrocarbons (HC) in the exhaust gas, expressed as 10-6. 3.6 Type approval test
refers to the idle speed method exhaust pollutant approval test for motorcycles and mopeds prototypes applied for type approval by manufacturing enterprises. 3.7 Production consistent inspection test
refers to the test of idling exhaust pollutant inspection on motorcycles and mopeds produced in batches by manufacturing enterprises. 3.8 In-use vehicle inspection test
refers to the test of idling exhaust pollutant inspection on motorcycles and mopeds after they are licensed. 465
GB14621—2002
3.9 Pollution control devices
Devices for controlling or limiting exhaust emissions on motorcycles and mopeds. 4 Exhaust pollutant emission limits and requirements
When measured by the rapid method, the exhaust pollutant emission limits are shown in Table 1. 4.1

5.1.1 must use non-dispersive infrared rays -Carbon oxide (CO) and hydrocarbon (HC) gas monitors, their technical performance should comply with the regulations of HJ/T3.
5.1.2 Sampling hose length: 5.0m.
5.1.3 Sampling probe length: The depth of insertion into the pipe should be no less than 400mm, and there should be a positioning device on the probe to ensure the insertion depth. 5.1.4 Calibration: The static calibration of the calibration gas port and the dynamic calibration of the sampling system should be consistent for CO, and the tolerance for HC is 20X10-6.
The instrument should have measures to maintain the above performance index requirements within the atmospheric pressure range of 86 to 106kPa. 5.1.5
5.2 Tachometer
5.2.1 Accuracy: ±10 r/min.
5.2.2 Range: n=0 r/min~6 000 r/min. 6 Instrument preparation and use
6.1 Preparation and use of the monitor
6.1.1 Prepare (including preheating) and use the instrument according to the instructions of the instrument manufacturer. 6.1.2 The zero position and span should be calibrated before and after each use of the instrument, and the error shall not exceed 3%. 6.1.3 Ensure that the gas-water separator and flow indicator are working properly, and each filter element should be replaced in time according to the pollution status. 6.1.4 During the measurement process, attention should be paid to the adjustment knobs not to be moved, and the sampling system not to leak. 6.2 The preparation and use of the tachometer should be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. 6.3 The instrument must be calibrated regularly and can only be used within the validity period. 7 Fuel and vehicle preparation
7.1 The fuel used in the type approval test is unleaded vehicle gasoline with a research octane number of 95 specified in GB17930. The fuel used in the production consistency inspection test and in-use vehicle inspection test should comply with vehicle owner's manual. The quantity and grade of engine lubricating oil should comply with the vehicle instruction manual. | |tt | It cannot be changed. 8 Measurement procedures
8. 1 Start the vehicle and preheat according to one of the following conditions: 8.1.1 The motorcycle runs at a speed of 50km/h and the moped runs for 10km at a speed of 40km/h. 8.1.2. Motorcycles shall run under the working conditions specified in GB14622, and mopeds shall run on the chassis dynamometer for four cycles according to the working conditions specified in GB18176.
8.1.3 Motorcycles and mopeds must be driven for at least 15 minutes under normal road traffic conditions. 8.2 Complete the following rapid emission measurements within 10 minutes after the vehicle is warmed up: 8.2.1 Add a 600mm length to the tail of the exhaust muffler. .Special sealing pipe with inner diameter $40mm. 8.2.2 Maintain the interest rate working condition, insert the sampling probe into the nozzle, ensure the insertion depth is 400mm, and read the indicated values ??of CO and HC 30 seconds after the probe is inserted as the measured value.
8.2.3 interval is 1 minute, repeat 8.2.2. 8.2.4 The arithmetic mean of the two measurement results is taken. If there are multiple exhaust pipes, take the arithmetic mean of the measurement results of each exhaust pipe. 8.3 Number rounding: rounded carbon monoxide (CO) emission values ??are rounded to one decimal place: hydrocarbons (HC) are rounded to ten digits. 8.4 Record the rapid emission measurement results in Appendix A. 467
