Preparation Instructions
This specification is compiled by the Ministry of Petroleum Industry in accordance with the requirements of the Notice No. 546 of the former State Construction Commission (81) Jianfashezi, and is jointly compiled by the "Spherical Storage Tank Construction and Acceptance Specification" Editorial Committee composed of the Ministry of Machinery Industry, Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, Ministry of Chemical Industry, Ministry of Urban and Rural Construction and Environmental Protection, Ministry of Textile Industry and China Petrochemical Corporation.
In the process of compilation, in the spirit of "advanced technology, economic rationality, safety and applicability, and quality assurance", based on the summary of my country's experience in manufacturing spherical storage tanks, with reference to advanced foreign standards, and widely soliciting opinions from relevant units across the country, after repeated discussions and revisions, it was finally reviewed and finalized by the Ministry of Petroleum Industry and relevant units across the country. This specification consists of nine chapters and four appendices, with the main contents including: general provisions, inspection and acceptance of parts and components, on-site assembly, welding, weld inspection, on-site post-weld overall heat treatment, product welding test plate inspection, pressure test and air tightness test, and acceptance inspection.
During the implementation of this specification, all units are requested to combine engineering practice and scientific research, and carefully summarize experience. If any modification or supplement is found, please send your opinions to the Construction Technology Research Institute of the Ministry of Petroleum (Tanggu, Tianjin) for reference in future revisions. Chapter 1 General
Article 1.0.1 This specification applies to the construction and acceptance of welded spherical storage tanks made of carbon steel and low alloy steel (hereinafter referred to as spherical tanks) with a design temperature higher than -20℃ and a wall thickness less than or equal to 50mm.
This specification does not apply to the following spherical tanks:
1. Spherical tanks for nuclear industry;
2. Non-fixed (such as vehicle-mounted or ship-mounted) spherical tanks;3. Spherical tanks with double-layer structures.
Article 1.0.2 For liquefied petroleum gas spherical tanks, when the design temperature is lower than or equal to -20°C, if the stress (overall primary membrane stress) under the shell working condition is not greater than 1/6 of the yield strength of the selected material, it can be treated as a normal temperature spherical tank. Article 1.0.3 The spherical tank should be constructed according to the design. If the design drawing needs to be modified, the original design unit must agree and sign the design change document. Article 1.0.Article 4 In addition to complying with the provisions of this specification, the construction and acceptance of spherical tanks shall also comply with the provisions of the current national standards and specifications.
