GB16487.11-1996 | | tt | | Foreword | Environmental pollution caused by waste. This standard will be implemented on a trial basis from August 1, 1996. This standard is proposed by the Pollution Control Department of the National Environmental Protection Administration. The National Environmental Protection Administration is responsible for interpreting this standard. 1 Scope
National Standard of the People's Republic of China
Environmental protection control standard for imported waste
Ships and other floating structures for disassembly (trial)
Environmental protection control standard for imported scrap material
-Scrapping ships and floating facilitiesGB16487.111996
This standard specifies the control requirements for entrained matter and radioactive pollution in imported scrap ships that have an impact on the environment. This standard applies to the import of ships and other floating structures (hereinafter referred to as scrap ships) with customs commodity number 8908.0000 for disassembly.

This standard The following definitions are adopted:
Entrained waste
Crew domestic waste carried in imported scrap ships and industrial waste mixed with or remaining after loading and unloading cargo. Excluded are imported scrap ships used during normal navigation and materials remaining and replaced during use, as well as cargo carried by shipwrecked ships. 4 Control Standards and Requirements
4.1 It is prohibited to carry in imported scrap ships entrained waste whose concentration of harmful substances in the leachate exceeds the identification standard value in GB5085.3-1996.
4.2 It is prohibited to carry waste with polyfluorinated biphenyl content exceeding the control standard value in GB13015-91 in imported scrap ships. 4.3 Imported waste ships are prohibited from carrying entrained waste whose pH value of the release liquid is equal to or greater than 12.5 and equal to or less than 2. 4.4 Radioactive waste is prohibited from being carried in imported scrap ships. 4.5 The radioactive material pollution control indicators of imported scrap ships should comply with the requirements of GB8703-88 regarding the control level of radioactive material pollution on the surface of objects.
