National Standard of the People's Republic of China Red Star Rocket Signal for Ships Red Star Rocket Signal for Ships Subject Content and Scope of Application GB 3107.3--91 Replaces GB3107.3-82 This standard specifies the type, basic parameters, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, etc. of the Red Star Rocket Signal for Ships. This standard applies to the Red Star Rocket Signal used by lifesaving stations or maritime rescue units to guide people in distress, distressed boats, and landing boats when ships are in distress and need rescue. It meets the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea adopted by the International Maritime Organization. 2 Reference Standards GB 3107.1 General Technical Conditions for Ship Pyrotechnic Signals 3 Product Classification Type and Size The Red Star Rocket Signal for Ships is a flame-type pyrotechnic signal that is rocket-propelled and ignited by pulling or firing. Its main components include: rocket thruster; signal body; igniter; shell and guide tube; connector; safety cover and top cover. signal body should be composed of ignition powder, ignition powder, signal powder, etc. 3.1.3 Rocket engine should be composed of rocket body, ignition powder, propellant and delay powder, etc. 3.1.4 The outer diameter of the ship's Red Star rocket signal should not exceed 50mm, the total length should not exceed 295mm, and the total mass should not exceed 450g. 3.2 Marking example The Red Star rocket signal (HXJ) which is propelled by a rocket to a height of 300m in the air, emits a red light with an intensity of 80,000cd and a burning duration of 8s is marked as: HXJ 8-80 000 GB 3107. 3-91 Technical requirements The manufacture of the Red Star rocket signal for shipboard use must comply with the technical requirements of Chapter 4 of GB3107.1. 4.1 4.2 The technical performance of the ship's Red Star rocket signal should meet the following requirements: a. The rocket launch height should not be less than 300m; The red light intensity should not be less than 80,000cd; The red light duration should not be less than 8s; The red light color should be in accordance with the diagram specified by the International Commission on Illumination, and its chromaticity area limit should be within the range of the angle coordinates listed in Table 1: Approved by the State Administration of Technical Supervision on May 22, 1991, and implemented on March 1, 1992 GB3107.3-91 |.0.265 4.3 This signal should work effectively after repeating 10 cycles at an ambient temperature of -30 to +65℃. It should be able to withstand low temperatures of -30℃ and high temperatures of +65℃, and work effectively at these ambient temperatures. 4.4 4.5 It can work effectively in any sea conditions with a high temperature of 65℃ and a relative humidity of 90%. 4.6 This product should work effectively after being immersed in water for 1m horizontally for 24h. 4.7 The product should not be affected in performance after being immersed in water for 5min at a depth of 10cm in the ready-to-fire state. 4.8 This product should be able to withstand the salt spray test of 20% NaCl solution. 4.9 This signal should be safe and reliable when ignited, its initial thrust should be appropriate, and the ignition flame should not burn the hand of the person who releases it. 0.721 4.10 The product should remain in a safe state and work effectively after falling freely from a height of 2m according to the specified test method. After ignition and burning, it will not harm the operator and any nearby personnel. 4.11 The metal parts involved in the manufacture of this product should be treated with anti-corrosion and anti-rust. 5 Test methods The test methods for this product shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 5 of GB3107.1. 6 Inspection rules 6.1 The inspection rules for this product shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 6 of GB3107.1. 6.2 The items, technical requirements and sampling quantity of the product before delivery shall comply with the requirements of Table 2.
