This standard specifies the chemical composition of processed copper and copper alloys, and lists the commonly used product shapes. This standard applies to copper and copper alloy processed products (plates, strips, foils, tubes, bars, profiles, wires and forgings) produced by pressure processing methods and the cast nails and billets used. GB/T5231--2001 This standard is a combined revision of GB/T5231-1985 "Chemical composition and product shape of processed copper", GB/T5232-1985 "Chemical composition and product shape of processed brass", GB/T5233-1985 "Chemical composition and product shape of processed bronze", and GB/T5234-1985 "Chemical composition and product shape of processed white copper". This standard refers to the grades and chemical composition of ASTM in the United States, and makes new provisions for the chemical composition of some grades in the original national standards. This standard includes 111 grades, retaining 88 grades in the four standards of GB/T5231~~5234--1985, and adding 23 new grades. Among them, pure copper added one grade TU0-; brass added ten grades, including HPb89-2, HPb66-0.5, HPb62-3, HPb62-2, HPb60-2, HPb59-3, HA161-4-3-1.HMn62-3-3-0.7, H85A, and H70A; bronze added eight grades, including QSn1.5-0.2, QSn8-0.3, QBe0.6-2.5, QBe0.4-1.8, QBe0.3-1.5.QCr1, QFe2.5, and QTe0.5; white copper added four grades, including B30, BFe5-1.50.5, BZn18-18, and BZn18-26. This standard maintains the original national standard's grade expression method: For those that fully adopt the American alloy grade, the corresponding American alloy code is marked below the code and enclosed in brackets. Appendix A of this standard is a prompt appendix. This standard will replace GB/T5231~5234-1985 from the date of implementation. This standard is proposed by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Standard Metrology and Quality Research Institute. This standard was drafted by Shenyang Nonferrous Metals Milk Factory. This standard was drafted by Luoyang Copper Processing Group Co., Ltd. The main drafters of this standard are: Wang Xingmao, Jiang Baichang, Liu Guanqiang, Zhang Fumian, Wang Li, Shen Wei, Meng Huijuan, Guo Laimei. This standard is entrusted to the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Nonferrous Metals for interpretation. 307 1 Scope National Standard of the People's Republic of China Wrought copper and copper alloys chemical compositionlimits and forms of wrought products This standard specifies the chemical composition of wrought copper and copper alloys and lists the commonly used product forms. GB/T 5231-2001 Replaces GB/T5231~5234-1985 This standard applies to wrought copper and copper alloy products (plates, strips, foils, tubes, bars, profiles, wires and forgings) produced by pressure working methods and the ingots and blanks used therefor. 2 Requirements 2.1 Chemical composition and product form 2.1.1 The chemical composition and product form of wrought copper shall comply with the provisions of Table 1. 2.1.2 The chemical composition and product form of wrought yellow shall comply with the provisions of Table 2. 2.1.3 The chemical composition and product form of wrought bronze shall comply with the provisions of Table 3. 2.1.4 The chemical composition and product shape of processed white copper shall comply with the provisions of Table 4. 2.2 The elements with upper and lower limits in Table 1, Table 2, Table 3 and Table 4 are alloying elements. For the elements with single values, copper is the minimum limit and other impurity elements are the maximum limit. 2.3 The chemical composition of processed copper and copper alloys is equivalent to the corresponding grades of the American ASTM standard. See Appendix A (Suggested Appendix).
