This standard is proposed by the Forensic Evidence Identification Center of the Ministry of Public Security and is under the jurisdiction of the Computer and Information Processing Standardization Technical Committee of the Ministry of Public Security. The main drafting unit of this standard is the Forensic Evidence Identification Center of the Ministry of Public Security. The participating drafting units are the Shanghai Public Security Bureau, Liaoning Provincial Public Security Department, Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau, and Heilongjiang Provincial Public Security Department. The drafters of this standard are Liu Bing, Zhang Guochen, Chen Song, and Ye Jian. I

This standard specifies the field biological samples and sampled person information items and data structures selected when establishing a forensic science DNA database.

5 Description
5.1 Characters
GA 470—-2004
All characters shall be those specified in GB2312. Characters not specified in GB2312 shall be those specified in GB18030. Chinese characters shall be represented by 2 bytes and other characters by 1 byte. All character data items shall be filled in from the left. If the length is insufficient, half-width spaces shall be used to fill in the gaps.
5.2 Sample number
22 digits in total. The 1st to 12th digits are the code of the testing unit (adopting the standard: GA380-2002), the 13th to 16th digits are the year, and the 17th to 22nd digits are the personnel serial number.
5.3 Inspection situation
Description of the method used to inspect the extracted samples. 5.4 Remarks
Used to explain and record important contents related to the sample that are not included in other text information items.
