1 Scope
Printing Technology Terms
Part 4: Lithographic Terms
GB/T 9851.4—2008
This part of GB/T9851 specifies the professional terms of lithographic printing to ensure the correct application of professional concepts in production, teaching and academic activities.
This standard is applicable to the printing industry and its related professions in the preparation of standards, publishing, teaching, scientific research and technical exchanges at home and abroad. 2 Planographic printing
Planographic printing Planographic printing The printing method in which the graphic part and the non-graphic part of the printing plate are almost on the same plane. [GB/T 9851.1—2008,5. 11]
Stonelithography
Direct printing method using stone plates to make printing plates. 2.3
Direct planographic printing Direct planographic printing The planographic printing method in which the ink is directly transferred from the printing plate to the substrate. 2.4
Indirect planographic printing Offset printing
The planographic printing method in which the ink on the printing plate is first transferred to a transfer body (such as a rubber cloth tightly wrapped on a cylinder) and then transferred to the substrate.
Collotype printing
Direct lithographic printing method using glass plate as the base, and making gelatin patterns with different degrees of hardening and different ink absorption as the printing plate according to the layers of the original.
Metal decoration
Printing method using metal plate as the substrate, [GB/T 9851.12008,5.12]
Iwaterless offset printing
Waterless offset printing
Offset printing method without fountain solution.
Hydrophilicity
The property that the non-image part of the printing plate surface has affinity for water, 1
GB/T 9851.4—2008
Hydrophobicity
The property that the image part of the printing plate surface has the ability to repel water. 2. 10
Wet-on-wet printing In multi-color printing, the ink of the previous color is not dry, and the next color ink is immediately superimposed on its surface. 2.11
Ink trapping
The ink receiving state when two or more inks are superimposed. 2. 12
Solid
The ink receiving area with 100% dot coverage. 2. 13
Ink-water balance
The relatively stable relationship between ink and dampening solution under normal printing conditions. 2.14
Irelative contrast value
Relative contrast value
-niKANiKAca-
The ratio of the difference between the density of the solid and the specific mesh adjustment area to the solid density, also known as the K value. Used to determine the amount of ink to be applied for proofing and printing.
Dot gain dotgain
The difference between the tone value on the printed matter and the tone value of the corresponding part on the color separation film. Expressed as a percentage. Note: For CTP platemaking, dot gain refers to the difference between the tone value on the printed matter and the tone value of the corresponding part on the printing plate. [GB/T17934.1—1999,3.20]
blanket-to-blanket offset
BB offset printing
A double-sided printing method in which a pair of rubber cloth rollers roll against each other. 2.17
Damping
In order to maintain the ink-repellent nature of the non-image area of the printing plate, the surface of the printing plate is moistened with a dampening liquid. 3 Offset press
Offset press offset press
A lithographic printing press that transfers the image of the printing plate to the substrate through a rubber cloth roller. 3.2
Plate cylinder
The cylindrical support of the printing plate.
[GB/T9851.1—2008,6.2]
Impression cylinder
The cylindrical support of the substrate.
[GB/T 9851. 1—2008,6.2]
Blanket cylinder
The cylindrical support of the rubber blanket.
Idamping unit
Device for conveying and regulating dampening liquid.
Rolling
The rubber cylinder and the plate cylinder or the impression cylinder of the offset printing press roll relative to each other under pressure. Cylinder hearer
GB/T 9851.4—2008
The raised steel rings at both ends of the cylinder are used to determine the roller clearance and are the basis for adjusting the roller center distance and determining the lining thickness. 4 Printing materials
Printing materials materials for planographic printing The general term for substrates and other raw and auxiliary materials used in printing production. 4.2
Blanket
A composite material product composed of a rubber coating and a base material (such as fabric). In indirect lithography, it is used to transfer ink from the printing plate to the substrate.
Process colour ink
The ink specified for use in four-color printing, usually referring to yellow, magenta, back and black inks. 4.4
Fountain solution
Maintains ink-repellent permanent solution in the non-image area of the printing plate during the printing process. 5Offset printing trouble
Offset printing troubleoffsetprintingtroubleA general term for defects that affect the normal printing process or the quality of the printed sheet. 5.2
Streaks
Strip-shaped marks that often appear in the flat screen area and are parallel to the axis of the roller. 5.3
Scumming
Undue ink appears in the non-image area of the printing plate. 5.4
ink piling
Ink and other substances accumulate on the ink transfer parts of the printing press, [GB/T 9851, 1—2008,7. 5]
GB/T 9851.4—2008
roller stripping
The phenomenon that the ink roller is eroded by the dampening liquid and repels the oil. 5. 6
ink emulsification
ink emulsification
The phenomenon that the ink absorbs the dampening liquid during the printing process. 5.7
daubling
A defect in which the graphic elements have double outlines. [GB/T 9851.,1—2008,7, 6]
ghostimage
The faint image on the printed sheet caused by insufficient local ink supply, commonly known as ghost image. 5.9
Epicking
-niKANiKAca-
The phenomenon in which paper fibers, fillers or coatings fall off or are pulled up from the surface of paper due to excessive ink viscosity or poor paper surface strength during printing.
set-off
The ink not deposited on a printed sheet adheres to the back of the adjacent printed sheet. [GB/T 9851.1—2008,7.2]
filling in
The ink and/or paper powder are deposited in the small blank areas of the printing plate. [GB/T 9851.1—2008,7. 4]
print through
The image and text printed on the front can be seen on the back.
