Determination of tear resistance
HG/T 2581—94
This standard refers to the international standard ISO4674—1977 "Rubber or plastic coated fabrics—Determination of tear resistance" 1 Subject content and scope of application
This standard specifies the method for determining the tear resistance of rubber or plastic coated fabrics. This standard includes three methods: trapezoidal tear strength (hereinafter referred to as the trapezoidal method), double-tongue single-tear tear strength (hereinafter referred to as the single-tear method) and three-tongue double-tear tear strength (hereinafter referred to as the double-tear method). The test results of the trapezoidal, single-tear and double-tear tear strength of a rubber or plastic coated fabric cannot be compared with each other; for the double-tongue tear strength test, the test results of two different tongue widths cannot be compared with each other. This standard is applicable to coated fabrics whose base fabric is torn perpendicular to the tearing direction, but not to coated fabrics with complex tearing forms and mesh or knitted fabrics as base fabrics.
2 Reference standards
GB/T7539 Standard environment for storage and testing of rubber coated fabrics 3 Definitions
3.1 Trapezoidal tear strength: The rubber or plastic coated fabric sample is clamped in a clamp in a trapezoidal shape, and a slit is cut on the short side of the trapezoid. When stretched, the base fabric yarns are successively stressed and broken until the tensile testing machine shows the maximum force. 3.2 Tear strength of single tear method: Cut a crack at one end of the length direction of the sample to make it double-tongue, and tear the sample along the crack direction between the double-tongues. Record the median of the five peaks in the middle 50% area. 3.3 Tear strength of double tear method: Cut two cracks at one end of the length direction of the sample to make it triple-tongue. Clamp the two tongues of the sample in one clamp and the middle tongue in another clamp. Tear the sample along the two cracks. Record the median of the five peaks in the middle 50% area.
3.4 Tear length: The specified straight length of the uncut part of the sample before tearing. 3.5 Load peak: The load required to break one or more yarns of the base fabric in a single tear or double tear tear test, and a peak is formed on the recording chart.
3.6 Five peak median: The median of the five peak values in the middle 50% area of the recorder in a single tear tear strength test or double tear tear strength test
3.7 Warp tearing force test: A test in which the warp yarns of the base fabric are torn one by one during the tearing process of rubber or plastic coated fabrics. 3.8 Weft tearing force test: A test in which the weft yarns of the base fabric are torn one by one during the tearing process of rubber or plastic coated fabrics. 4 Instruments
4.1 This test uses a high-speed traction tensile testing machine. 4.2 The tensile testing machine has a reading device or a recording device for measuring force. Approved by the Ministry of Chemical Industry of the People's Republic of China on February 9, 1994 and implemented on January 1, 1995
HG/ T 2581 -- 94
4.3 The effective width of the test machine clamp should be greater than 75mm, with a center mark on the jaws. The clamp should have a linear groove or a corrugated surface. During the test, the clamp surface can be padded with appropriate materials. 4.4 The speed of the clamp movement: 200±10mm/min for the trapezoidal method. 100±10mm/min for the single tear method and the double tear method. 5 Samples
Cut a 500mm long sample from a distance of not less than 0.1m from the edge of the rubber or plastic coated fabric and not less than 1m from the end of the whole roll. After determining a certain tear strength test, cut or cut 5 warp and weft samples according to the arrangement of Figure 1 and the requirements of 3.7 and 3.8.
6 Time interval from manufacturing to testing
For all tests, the time interval from manufacturing to testing shall not be less than 16h. For non-finished product tests, the time interval from manufacturing to testing shall not exceed 4 weeks. Comparative tests should be conducted at the same time intervals. The longest interval between manufacturing and testing is 3 months. In other cases, the test should be conducted within two months from the date of receipt by the user. 7 Storage and standard environment of the sample The storage and standard environment of the sample should comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T7539. If the performance of wet materials needs to be determined, the sample is immersed in distilled water containing 1% (volume ratio) ethanol, and is placed at the specified temperature for 24 hours. It is clamped with absorbent paper, dried, and tested immediately. 8 Trapezoid tear strength test 8.1 Sample specifications: The sample obtained according to \5\ is cut according to the requirements of the arrangement method in Figure 1. The length is not less than 200mm and the width is 50mm. 8.2 Use the sample to draw the clamping line according to Figure 2, and cut a 10mm long incision perpendicular to the short side in the middle of the short side of the trapezoid. The specimen dimensions are shown in Figure 2.
Clamping line
8.3 Test steps
HG/T 2581 -
at 200
8.3.1 Adjust the distance between the pins of the upper and lower clamps to 100mm.8.3.2 Check the parallelism of the upper and lower clamps, the zero point of the pointer or recording device and the swing sensitivity.8
8.3.3 Place one end of the sample in the middle symmetrical position of the upper clamp so that the jaw line coincides with the clamping line and tighten the upper clamp. The other end of the sample is clamped in the clamp of the lower clamp in the same way. Tighten the lower clamp and start the tensile testing machine until the sample is completely torn along the middle incision line. Record the highest tear strength value.8.3.4 If the sample slips out of the clamp or the sample breaks irregularly beyond the extension line of the incision, this test result should be discarded, and another sample should be cut from the sample and tested again.8.4 Test results
Calculate the average tearing force of 5 warp specimens and 5 weft specimens respectively, accurate to 1N9 single tear tear strength test
9.1 Specimen specifications: Use 225mm long and 75±0.5mm wide specimens. You can also use 225mm long and 50±0.5mm wide specimens. The specific dimensions are shown in Figure 3.
Incision line
9.2 Test steps
9.2.1 Adjust the zero point of the tensile testing machine and make the distance between the upper and lower clamps 75±5mm, SOS
9.2.2 Clamp the two tongues of the specimen in the upper and lower clamps respectively. The incision line of the specimen passes through the center line of the upper and lower clamps, and make the front of one tongue and the back of the other tongue face the operator. HG/T 2581-94
9.2.3 Start the tensile testing machine, stretch the sample at a given speed, and record the load peak that tears at least 75mm. 9. 3 Test results
First, find the median of the five peaks of each sample, then take the median of the five warp (or weft) test results as the warp (or weft) tear strength result, accurate to 1N.10 Double tear tear strength test
10.1 Sample specifications: The sample is 225mm long and 75mm wide. The specific dimensions are shown in Figure 4: Cut line
10.2 Test steps
10.2.1 Adjust the load range, recording device, and mobility of the lower clamp of the tensile machine. 10.2.2 Place the tongue shape in the middle of the sample in the upper clamp, Make the bc line (see Figure 4) of the sample just visible, place the other two tongues in the lower clamp, make the ab and cd lines just visible, and keep a distance of 25mm between the two tongues. 10.2.3 When clamping the sample, pay attention to make the yarn direction of the sample base fabric parallel and perpendicular to the direction of force respectively. 10.2.4 Perform the tearing test at a given speed until all the samples are broken. 10.3 Test results
First calculate the median of the five peaks of each sample, then take the median of the five warp (or weft) test results as the warp (or weft) tear strength result, accurate to 1 N.11
