This standard specifies the test method for tear extension force at folded edge of thermoplastic soft film bags under given conditions. This standard is applicable to the detection of residual strength at the folded edge of thermoplastic soft film. 2 Normative references

Resistance to tear propagation The force of a trapezoidal specimen with a notch and a perforation to resist tear propagation. 3.2
Residual resistance
The ratio of the tear extension force at the folded edge of the film to the tear extension force at the non-folded edge, expressed as a percentage. Test sample
4.1 Sampling and preparation of test samples
The specimens are taken from the film or plastic bag to be tested as shown in Figure 1. The folded edge specimens should include the folded edge, and the incision should coincide with the folded edge. The non-folded edge specimens should be directly along the folded edge and cut on both sides of the sample bag, with the incision parallel to the folded edge. Cut the specimens with a knife or punch, and the edges should be smooth and free of burrs. It is recommended to use the template shown in Appendix A to cut and mark the specimens. Use ink or other neutral media that does not affect the properties of the material to mark the specimens, as shown in Figure 1. GB/T20860—2007/ISO11897:19991 Folded edge:

5.1 Tensile testing machine

According to the provisions of GB/T1040.3, the clamp should be able to clamp the specimen according to the markings, and the clamp width is 100mm. 5.2 Thickness tester
The thickness tester should comply with the provisions of GB/T6672. 6 Test environmental conditions
The test was carried out under the conditions specified in GB/T4857.2 at 23°C ± 2°C and relative humidity of 50% ± 2%. 7 Test procedure
7.1 Pre-treat the specimen for 24 hours as specified in Chapter 6. 7.2 Measure the thickness of the specimen in accordance with the method specified in GB/T6672. The measuring points should be on both sides of the folded edge, close to the incision. 7.3 Fix the specimen on the upper and lower fixtures of the tensile testing machine. The markings on the specimen should coincide with the edges of the fixtures as much as possible. Start the tensile test and perform the tensile test at a speed of 100mm/min ± 10mm/min. Observe and record the maximum value obtained. 8 Evaluation
Calculate the arithmetic mean using the maximum force value of each test. The test results of the folded film and the unfolded film should be calculated separately. Calculate the residual strength as the ratio of the two average values ​​[see formula (1)]. 2
