3 Types and sizes
There are two types of welding lip sealing rings for pipe flanges: flat type (FF type) and concave-convex type (MFM type) with auxiliary sealing gaskets, as specified in Figure 3 and Tables 3-1 to 3-2. 61

4 Conditions of use
4.0.1 Welding lip seal rings are used in situations where flange joint leakage is required to be minimized or eliminated. Such as high vacuum, transportation or processing of extremely hazardous and highly hazardous media.
4.0.2 Flat type (FF type) welding lip seal rings are used in general situations. 4.0.3 Concave-convex type (MFM type) with auxiliary seal has dual sealing functions of welding lip and auxiliary seal, which can reduce crevice corrosion; it is easy to align during installation and provides multiple functions for pressure testing and use.
According to user needs, auxiliary seals can be selected from 0.5mm thick flexible graphite, polytetrafluoroethylene, asbestos rubber sheet, lead, silver, soft aluminum, purple steel, etc., but they should be specified when ordering.
The outer diameter of the auxiliary gasket is d-1, and the inner diameter is d1. The maximum operating temperature of the welding lip seal (ring and auxiliary seal) is specified in Table 4.0.4, 4.0.4

5 Technical requirements
5.0.1 The material of the weld lip seal ring shall comply with the forging requirements of HGJ66 "Technical Conditions for Steel Pipe Flanges". When made of steel plates, it shall comply with the requirements of Article 3.4 of HGJ66.

6 Marking and packaging
6.0.1 The sealing rings should be packaged in pairs according to the type, specification and material. The product quality inspection certificate should be attached when delivering, and the outer side of each pair of sealing rings should be marked with the contents specified in 6.0.2 with steel stamps.

A1 Installation and welding
A1.0.1 The welding lip sealing ring should be sealed and positioned with the flange surface on the outside, but attention should be paid to the centering of the positioning to avoid affecting the assembly accuracy of the welding lip sealing ring groove after assembly, as well as (the installation of MFM type D sealing ring.|| tt||When the medium has a tendency to crevice corrosion, the weld lip sealing ring should be fillet welded on the inside and outside respectively. The weld leg height of the outside fillet weld is 5mm. A1.0.2After the flanges are assembled, two or more bolts are installed symmetrically for pre-tightening, and then the weld lip is sealed (generally using argon arc welding). Before welding, the weld lip groove should be ground as necessary. After welding, install and tighten all bolts. A1.0.3When installing the FF type sealing ring, the bolt pre-tightening force should be slightly greater than the internal pressure caused by Axial force. When installing MFM type sealing ring, the bolt preload shall not only consider the axial force caused by internal pressure, but also the preload required to ensure the auxiliary sealing gasket.
