GB19197—2003
This standard is formulated based on the seventh part of the 2001 CIK/FIA (International Automobile Federation/International Karting Committee) "Karting International Rules" "Karting Circuit Approval Specifications". Appendix C and Appendix D of this standard are normative appendices, and Appendix A and Appendix B are informative appendices. This standard is proposed by the State General Administration of Sport.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of the State Sports General Administration.
The drafting units of this standard are: China Automobile Federation, Tianjin Tanggu District Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau. The main drafters of this standard are: Sun and Liu Yuzhuo. This standard is published for the first time.

GB19197—2003
Karting Park Construction Specifications
This standard specifies the classification and site construction requirements of karting parks. This standard applies to the design, identification inspection and registration inspection of karting parks. 2 Normative References
The provisions of the following documents become the provisions of this standard through reference in this standard. For all references with registration dates, all subsequent amendments (excluding errata) or revised versions are not applicable to this standard. However, the parties to the agreement based on this standard are encouraged to study whether the latest versions of these documents can be used. For all undated references, the latest versions are applicable to this standard. GB19196 Classification and registration of go-karts
3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this standard. 3.1
Karting circuit
It is a special place for go-kart competition, go-kart training and go-kart popularization activities, equipped with a closed circular track and corresponding facilities. 3.2
Track
It is a closed circular road specially built for go-karts to run, with the starting point and the end point at the same place. 4 Classification of go-kart circuits
According to the different functions of the venues, go-kart circuits are divided into three categories: outdoor competition go-kart circuits, outdoor popular go-kart circuits and indoor go-kart circuits.
5 Venue requirements
5.1 General requirements
The layout, track, ancillary facilities and related buildings of the go-kart circuit must meet the safety requirements. For a go-kart circuit used for business, its noise during the operation period should meet the provisions of the national environmental protection standards. Karts used in karting fields shall comply with the provisions of GB19196. 5.2 Track requirements
5.2.1 Track length, straight section width and curve width The length, straight section width and curve width of the track shall comply with the requirements of Table 1. Table 1 Track length, straight section width and curve width Venue type

Road Width
The starting line and the finish line of the track are located in the middle of the starting straight section. The maximum length of the straight section of the track shall comply with the provisions of Table 2.

The runway pavement material of the outdoor go-kart track should be the same modified asphalt, and the indoor go-kart track can also be built with concrete or other hard materials.
5.2.3.2 Runway pavement quality
The runway pavement should meet the following quality requirements: a) Compactness: The surface compaction degree shall not be less than 94% (determined by nuclear instrument). b) Smoothness: The surface smoothness of asphalt macadam road surface (maximum gap) shall not exceed 5mm; the surface smoothness of asphalt penetration road surface (maximum gap) shall not exceed 10mm; the surface smoothness of asphalt paving surface (maximum gap) of cement concrete road surface shall not exceed 5mm. c) Anti-skid performance of road surface
The friction coefficient of the road surface of the newly paved road surface shall not be less than 0.65, and the friction coefficient of the road surface after one year of use shall not be less than 0.43 (measured by a pendulum instrument). 5.2.3.3 Road surface slope
The longitudinal slope of the outdoor kart track shall not exceed 5%, and the maximum longitudinal slope of the straight section with the start and end points shall be 1%. In the straight section of the track, when the cross section of the track is a single slope, the maximum transverse slope between the two sides of the track is 1%. In the curved section, the transverse slope from the inner edge to the outer edge of the curve should not exceed 3%, and in special cases should not exceed 10%. There should be no reverse slope. The slope of the straight section and the slope of the curved section should be naturally and smoothly connected.
The longitudinal and transverse slopes of the indoor karting track are 0%±0.2%. In special cases, the longitudinal slope should not be greater than 10%. The connection between the slope and the plane should be smooth.
5.2.3.4 Edge lines and boundary stones of outdoor tracks The edges of outdoor tracks (except for the entrances and exits of the track) should be painted with a 100mm wide continuous line with non-slip white or yellow paint. Concrete boundary stones should be set in sections where the vehicle movement track is tangent to the track edge. The inner edge of the boundary stone should be smoothly connected to the outer edge of the track. The boundary stone should be laid firmly and bonded with asphalt or cement. The parameters of concrete boundary stones are shown in Appendix A. 5.2.4 Curves
A certain number of curves should be set on the track, and the radius of more than half of the total number of curves should vary. When the design vehicle speed exceeds 80km/h when passing a curve, the radius of the curve should be increased or maintained at a constant radius: the radius of the curve passed at a lower speed should be reduced accordingly, and the turning angle of the curve should be considered comprehensively based on the layout of the runway, the limited maximum turning speed and the curve radius. 671
The curve radius is calculated according to formula (1):
Where:
R——curve radius, in meters (m): GB19197—2003
—prescribed maximum turning speed of the vehicle, in meters per second (m/s); K——coefficient. The unit is meters per second squared (m/s) (the value range of K value: 5
