GB/T 16696-1996 This standard is equivalent to IS10087:1995 "Small boats - Hull identification - Code". Its technical content is completely equivalent to that of my country and small boat research, production and use units. Since the GB2659 "World Country and Region Name Code" quoted in this standard is currently the 1986 version in China (referenced to IS03166:1981), and the [S]3166 quoted in ISO10087:1995 "Small boats - Hull identification - Code" is the 1993 version; in addition, in ISO10087:1.995, the second paragraph of Article 4.1 belongs to the provisions of the identification code of the small boat manufacturer from the technical content, and it is included in the second paragraph of Article 4.2 when compiling this standard. This standard is proposed by China State Shipbuilding Corporation. This standard is issued by China State Shipbuilding Corporation Comprehensive Technical and Economic Research Institute. The drafting unit of this standard is the Comprehensive Technical and Economic Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation. The main drafters of this standard are Kang Yuan and Zhang Meiling. 612 GB/T16696—1996 ISO Foreword ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an international organization of national standards bodies (IS) member groups. The formulation of international standards is carried out by ISO's technical committees. Each member group has the right to participate in the committee if it is interested in the subject of a technical committee. Governmental and non-governmental international organizations associated with ISO can also participate in this work. ISO works closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in the standardization of electrotechnical technology. The draft international standards adopted by the technical committees are sent to the member bodies for approval before they are approved as international standards by the ISO Council. According to the ISO standard formulation procedure, the draft international standard needs at least 75% of the member groups to vote in favor to become an international standard. International Standard ISO10087 was prepared by ISO/TC188-Technical Committee for Small Boats. Users should note that all international standards are subject to review and revision from time to time. Unless otherwise specified, other international standards referenced in this standard refer to the latest versions. The second edition of this standard cancels and replaces the first edition (1S()10087:1990), and mainly modifies the representation method of hull identification numbers. GB2659--1994 Codes for names of countries and regions in the world 3 Definitions This standard adopts the following definitions. 3.1 Hull identification number (HIN) number A specific set of numbers, letters and dashes permanently marked on the hull of a small boat. 4 Composition of the hull identification number The hull identification number shall consist of 14 consecutive characters specified in Articles 4.1 to 4.4 and a dash, without any separators, delimiters (slashes) or dashes in between. 4.1 The first two characters are the national identification code indicating the country of manufacture of the small boat in accordance with the provisions of GB 2659. A dash should be attached afterwards. 4.2 The next three characters are the manufacturer's identification code assigned by the national competent authority or recognized organization. The characters should be letters. The manufacturer should be the manufacturer involved in the construction of the small boat. If multiple manufacturers are involved, the manufacturer with the registered manufacturer's identification code should be the manufacturer. 4.3 The next five characters are the serial number of the small boat assigned by the manufacturer. This serial number can be composed of numbers and (or) letters (but letters I, () and Q excluded). 4.4 The last four characters are used to indicate the month, year and model year of the boat. The month of manufacture code shall comply with the provisions of Table 1. Approved by the State Administration of Technical Supervision on December 18, 19966.14wwW.bzxz.Net Implementation on August 1, 1997 GB/T16696---1996 Month of manufacture code The year of manufacture code shall be identified by the last digit of the year of manufacture of the boat. The model year code shall be identified by the last two digits of the said year. Month Note 1. The model year refers to the year in which a particular model of boat is intended to be sold. Any boat of the designated model may be built in the previous calendar year. 4.5 Example of hull identification number: NI-XHAB7A33G293NL- XHA Country Identification Code Manufacturer Identification Code Serial Number- Month of Manufacture Code Year of Manufacture Code Model Year Code 5 Requirements 5.1 Characters The characters forming the hull identification number shall be at least 6 mm high. 5.2 Markings The hull identification number shall be permanently marked by engraving, welding, printing, embossing, pressing or other methods so that it can be clearly seen when it is replaced, removed or substituted.
