This standard refers to the 7th edition of the "EAN·UCC General Specification" formulated by the International Article Numbering Association (GS1), Chapter 2, Section 4, Position Coding and Symbol Representation, and combined with China's actual situation, GB/T16828-1997 "Position Code" has been revised. The technical content of this standard is consistent with the technical requirements of international standards.
This standard replaces GB/T16828-1997 "Location Code". The main changes of this standard compared with GB/T16828-1997 are as follows:
---The name of the standard is changed to commodity barcode participant location coding and barcode representation, which is one of the commodity barcode series standards.
---GB12904 "Commodity Barcode", GB/T12905 "Barcode Terminology" and GB/T16986 "EAN·UCC System Application Identifier" are added as normative reference documents.
---The code structure is changed from one to three.
---The relevant content of management is added.
---The relevant content of application identifier is added.

6.1 Barcode symbol representation
When barcode symbols are used to represent the participant location abbreviation, they should be used together with the participant location coding application identifier (GB/T16986): The barcode symbol adopts UCC/EAN-128 barcode (GB/T15125), the participant location coding application identifier is shown in Table 2, and the barcode symbol representation example is shown in Figure 1.

Calculation method of check code
The check code is calculated by the following steps with 10 as the modulus and 3 as the weight factor: Steps:
