Infringements must be investigated Report phone number: (010)68533533 GB/T9097.1—2000 This standard is equivalent to ISO4498-1:1990 "Determination of apparent hardness of sintered metal materials (excluding cemented carbide) Part 1: Materials with basically uniform cross-sectional hardness" to revise GB/T9097.1-1988. The main technical difference from ISO4498-1:1990 is that Appendix B is added to this standard to specify the Brinell hardness test conditions. This standard adjusts the hardness grade range when selecting test categories and conditions in GB/T9097.1-1988. This standard is an independent part under the general title of GB/T9097 "Determination of apparent hardness of sintered metal materials (excluding cemented carbide)". This standard replaces GB/T9097.11988 from the date of implementation. Appendix A and Appendix B of this standard are the appendices of the standard. This standard is proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the Standardization Technical Committee for Powder Metallurgy Products of the Machinery Industry. The drafting units of this standard are: Beijing Powder Metallurgy Research Institute and General Iron and Steel Research Institute. The main drafters of this standard are: Xu Xing, Hao Ying, Chen Wei, Jiang Zhenchun, and Tian Shuyan. This standard was first issued in April 1988. GB/T9097.1—2000 ISO Foreword ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation composed of national standardization bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of formulating international standards is usually completed by ISO technical committees. Member groups interested in a professional field for which a technical committee has been established have the right to participate in the committee. Official or unofficial organizations associated with ISO may also participate in the relevant work. In terms of electrotechnical standardization, ISO works closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Draft international standards formally adopted by the technical committee are submitted to the member bodies for voting. International standards need to be approved by at least 75% of the member groups that voted. International standard ISO4498-1 was developed by ISO/TC119 Powder Metallurgy Technical Committee. The second edition replaces the first edition (ISO4498-1: 1978) and makes slight technical modifications to its content. ISO4498 includes the following parts under the general title "Determination of apparent hardness of sintered metal materials (excluding cemented carbide)"; Part 1: Materials with essentially uniform cross-sectional hardness Part 2: Ferrous metal materials with surface hardening treatment by carburizing or carbonitriding Part 3: Surface hardening materials other than those specified in ISO4498-2 Appendix A is an appendix to the ISO4498 standard. 1 Scope National Standard of the People's Republic of China Sintered metal materials ,excluding hardmetals-Determination of apparent hardnessPart 1:Materials of essentially uniform section hardnessThis standard specifies the method for determining the apparent hardness of sintered metal materials (excluding hardmetals). This standard applies to: a) Sintered metal materials that have not been heat treated; GB/T9097.1—2002 eqv IS0 4498-1:1990 Replaces GB/T9097.1--1988 b) Sintered metal materials that have been heat treated but have essentially uniform hardness within a depth of at least 5 mm from the surface Note: For sintered metal materials that have undergone surface treatment (e.g. surface hardening) but are not in the state required by b), the determination of their apparent hardness shall be specified in other parts of this standard. 2 Referenced standards The provisions contained in the following standards constitute the provisions of this standard through reference in this standard. When this standard is published, the versions shown are valid. All standards will be revised, and parties using this standard should explore the possibility of using the latest versions of the following standards. GB/T230—1991Method for testing Rockwell hardness of metals GB/T231—1984Method for testing Brinell hardness of metals GB/T4340.1—1999Metal Vickers hardness test Part 1: Test method (eqvISO6507-1:1997) GB/T8170—1987Rules for rounding off values 3'Definitions This standard adopts the following definitions. Apparent hardness The hardness value of sintered metal materials measured by Brinell, Rockwell and Vickers hardness testers is called apparent hardness. 4 Instruments The test instruments shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T230, GB/T231 and GB/T4340.1. 5 Preparation of samples 5.1 In order to obtain hardness indentations with clear contours, the surface of the sample should be clean, smooth and flat. This is especially important when measuring Vickers hardness and Brinell hardness. Generally, a suitable solvent can be used to clean the surface, or it can be lightly polished with metallographic sandpaper or 6um diamond grinding paste, but polishing cannot affect the measurement results. Approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China on April 9, 2002, and implemented on October 1, 2002 GB/T 9097.1—2002 5.2 Since the apparent hardness of sintered materials is affected by their density, and the density of sintered parts may be different at different locations, the location of the hardness indentation should be determined by both parties. 6 Test requirements 6.1 The test should be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T230, GB/T231, GB/T4340.1 and this standard. 6.2 Select the test category and conditions. 6.2.1 During the test, first determine the hardness grade of the sample using the Vickers hardness test (HV5) with a load of 49.03N. Then select the test category and conditions in Table 1 according to the hardness grade of the sample. See Appendix A (Appendix to the standard) for Rockwell hardness test conditions. Table 1 Test category and conditions Specimen hardness grade (HV5) ≥15~60 >60~100 >100~200 >200~400 Test category and conditions HBS2.5/15.625/30 HBS2.5/31.25/15 HBS2.5/62.5/10 HBW2.5/187.5/10 2.5/187.5/10 Note: The Brinell hardness symbol HBS indicates the use of a steel ball indenter, and HBW indicates the use of a carbide indenter. 6.2.2 After the initial HV5 test, if there is any doubt about the selected hardness level, a lower level can be selected. 6.2.3 When the hardness range specified in the technical conditions of the material spans two hardness levels, the test category and conditions should be selected according to the lower level for testing. 6.3 In case of dispute, the Vickers hardness test should be used as the benchmark test method. Note: When the Vickers hardness test cannot be performed, the Rockwell hardness test can be used as the benchmark test method. 6.4 In order to meet the requirements of GB/T230, GB/T231 or GB/T4340.1, some special specimens such as: a) thin specimens; b) small cross-section specimens; c) the specified test area is very small; d) the specimen itself or after clamping is prone to deformation. A test force less than that specified in Table 1 must be used. Under this test condition, since the indentation is very small, the dispersion of the test results is greater than that under normal test conditions, and the hardness value obtained cannot fully represent the state of the material. Therefore, the test details should be agreed upon by both parties. 6.5 When measuring the Vickers hardness, if the edge contour of the indentation is not clear, the indentation should be discarded. 6.6 Make 5 qualified indentations, read or calculate the corresponding hardness value, and discard the lowest hardness value. When the test batch is large or there are other special reasons, 3 to 4 qualified indentations are allowed. 2 7 Result expression GB/T9097.1—2002 7.1 The four retained test values (see 6.6) or their arithmetic mean (rounded to integers according to GB/T8170) are reported as the result. 7.2 Hardness values are not allowed to be converted from one scale to another. 8 Test report The test report shall include the following: a) This standard number: b) All details required for identification of the test specimen; c) Test conditions; d) Test results: e) Operations not specified in this standard; f) Any details that may affect the test results.
