—1999 GB/T8409- This standard is a revision of GB8409-87 based on ISO6415 "Dimensions of Spin-on Oil Filters for Internal Combustion Engines" (1990 Edition) of the International Organization for Standardization. The technical content is the same as that of the international standard. GB8409-87 is drafted in accordance with ISO6415 (1981 Edition). This revision mainly modifies the following technical contents: Added a reference standard; Added relevant requirements for sealing surfaces; 3 Added filter dimensions. From the date of implementation, this standard will replace GB8409-87. This standard is proposed by the State Machinery Industry Bureau. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Automobile Standardization Technical Committee. The drafting unit of this standard: China Automotive Technology Research Center. The main drafter of this standard: Sun Hui. GB/T8409—1999 ISO Foreword ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards institutes (ISO member bodies). The development of international standards is carried out by IS() technical committees. Each member body has the right to send representatives to participate in the committee when it is interested in a topic for which a technical committee has been established. International organizations associated with ISO, official and unofficial, may also participate in this work. ISO members have close ties with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in the field of electronic products. The draft international standard formally voted on by the committee is submitted to the members for voting. The draft can only be published as an international standard when the vote reaches or exceeds 75%. International Standard ISO6415 was prepared by ISO/TC22 Technical Committee for Road Vehicles. The second edition replaces the first edition (ISO6415:1981). 345 1 Scope National Standard of the People's Republic of China Internal combustion engines-Spin-on filters forlubrication oil—Dimension GB/T8409-—1999 idt ISO 6415:1990 Replaces GB 8409—87 This standard specifies the basic dimensions and marking method for the interchangeability of automotive engine spin-on oil filters. When the filter is tightened, at least three threads should be in contact. M16×1.5 and M24×1.5 are used for spin-on filters. 2 3.2 Diameter and length of the filter The diameter and length of the filter are shown in Figure 2 and Table 2. B Figure 2 Filter The free height of the gasket is determined by the manufacturer and the value depends on the material and shape. Surface The gasket should be fully compressed to achieve a satisfactory fit; once installed, it should ensure good sealing effect throughout the service life of the filter. The diameter of the gasket should be between d and d:. The filter and gasket should be replaced at the same time. Diameter K Length Lmx Groove size 3.3 Bypass valve GB/T 8409—1999 Table 2 Filter size ≤140 Each spin-on oil filter shall be equipped with a bypass valve or corresponding components. If the bypass valve has been arranged on the engine body in the engine design, the spin-on oil filter installed on this engine may not be equipped with a bypass valve. The opening pressure of the bypass valve installed on the spin-on oil filter is as follows: 100±20 kPa 160±30kPa 250±40kPa 3.4 Bottom structure of filter housing In order to facilitate the disassembly and assembly of the filter, the structure of the bottom of the housing should adopt one of the following types: -X type; a) curved surface type, according to Figure 3, there is no stamping mark on the surface b) groove type, according to Figure 4 - -Y type; c) flat type, according to Figure 5 - Figure 3 Bottom of X-type housing -——No indentation o od Figure 4Bottom of Y-type housing - The surface is grooved, the number of grooves is 6 or an integer multiple of 6, marked Figure 5Bottom of Z-type housing - GB/T8409 One surface is punched into a flat surface, the number of flat surfaces is 8, 10, 12, 14, 15 or more. Spin-on oil filters should be marked as follows: For example: The mark of a spin-on oil filter with an M20X1.5 metric thread is: Oil filter GB/T8409 (ISO6415) M20×1.5 If the mark specified in this article is used in the marking, the filter shall comply with all the requirements of this standard. 5 Marking Each spin-on oil filter shall be marked with the following: a) manufacturer or supplier name; b) type mark; c) production date or production code; d) installation instructions; e) complete marking in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of this standard. 349 Tip: This standard content only shows part of the intercepted content of the complete standard.
