GB/T19352.1—2003/ISO14922-1:1999 International Standard Introduction
Thermal spraying technology has been widely used in the production of industrial products. Thermal spraying has become increasingly important in industrial applications such as manufacturing, maintenance and repair. For example, it has become an indispensable process for the manufacture of some structures that require corrosion resistance, wear resistance, high temperature protection and chemical erosion resistance in the automotive industry, aviation gas turbines, mechanical structures, printing industry and chemical industry. Therefore, the thermal spraying process has a great impact on the cost of production and the perfection of the product. To this end, it is very important to adopt an effective method to implement the thermal spraying process and to carry out quality management and guarantee in every link of production. In the ISO9000 and ISO9000 family standards for quality management systems, processes such as surface protection are classified as special processes because most surface protection processes cannot meet the quality standards through non-destructive testing and control during the production process. Quality cannot be given to products by post-testing, but should be generated by quality assurance in the manufacturing process. Even the most advanced and complete non-destructive testing measures cannot improve the quality of the coating after the thermal spray coating is applied, but can only report on the quality of the coating. In order to correctly apply thermal spray coatings and avoid serious problems during production operations, control and supervision are necessary, including the status of components, material selection, production process and subsequent testing process. In order to ensure a complete thermal spray production process and identify the root causes of problems, sufficient quality management should be introduced into the management of manufacturers. I
1 Scope
GB/T 19352.12003/IS0 14922-1:1999 Thermal spraying Quality requirements for thermally sprayed structures
Part 1: Guide to selection and use
This part of GB/T 19352 specifies guidelines for describing quality requirements for thermal spraying, which are applicable to manufacturers who use thermal spraying processes to coat new parts, repair or maintenance. These quality requirements are structured in a way that can be generally applied to any type of thermally sprayed structure. These guidelines only deal with those quality aspects of the final thermally sprayed structure that are affected by thermal spraying and the processes related to it (pre-treatment and post-treatment, etc.).
This part specifies various methods for achieving quality requirements for thermally sprayed parts, including thermally sprayed parts in the workshop and on site; it also specifies various methods for describing the manufacturer's ability to produce thermally sprayed components of a specified quality. These guidelines can also form the basis for any interested party to evaluate the manufacturer's thermal spray quality preparation. The purpose of this part is to guide the preparation of regulations or drafting of contract requirements, and to guide the management of manufacturers to formulate thermal spraying requirements for quality systems related to thermal spraying structure types. This part does not constitute part of any institutional, contractual or management requirements in isolation. This part is used for the following purposes:
Provide an interpretation of the requirements in the GB/T19000-1994 family of standards, and guide the establishment and description of thermal spraying as a "special process" part in the quality system;
b) When the quality system does not comply with GB/T19001-1994 and GB/T19002--1994, guide the establishment of quality requirements and construction details for thermal spraying;
c) Evaluate the quality requirements for thermal spraying in a) and b) above. Typical applications of this part are as follows:
In contracts: specify requirements for thermal spraying in the quality system; for producers: establish and maintain quality requirements for thermal spraying; for committees that develop structural specifications and other adopted standards: state requirements for thermal spraying; for interested parties, such as third parties, customers or managers of manufacturers: evaluate requirements for thermal spraying. 2 Normative references

3 Definitions
This part of GB/T19352 adopts the following definitions. 3.1 Contract (for thermal spraying)
Requirements for agreements on thermal sprayed components or on user-customized coatings; or basic requirements for components produced in batches for a large number of users proposed by the manufacturer when there is no clear user at the time of design and production. In both cases, it is assumed that the contract includes references to all relevant specified requirements. Note: The role of an independent legal person in a contract is determined by the parties to the contract and/or the applicable standards. 3.2 Special process
A type of process whose results cannot be fully verified by subsequent inspection and testing of its products, and whose defects may only appear after its products are put into use. Therefore, continuous monitoring and/or process certification are required to ensure that the specified requirements are met (see 4.9 of GB/T19001-1994). 3.3 Production organization
An organization whose thermal spraying workshop and/or thermal spraying site are under the same technical management and quality management. 3.4 Qualified person (for thermal spraying)
Individual who has acquired relevant competence and knowledge through education, training and/or relevant practical experience. 3.5 Structure (for thermal spraying)
Synonymous with product, component or any other system to which thermal spraying is applied. 3.6 Quality management system
According to GB/T6583-1994.
4 Selection of quality requirements for thermal spraying
When using this part of GB/T19352, the quality requirements for thermal spraying suitable for the type of thermal spraying structure involved can be selected from the following other parts of this standard:
Quality requirements for thermal spraying structures Part 2: Comprehensive quality requirements (GB/T19352.2); Quality requirements for thermal spraying structures Part 3: Standard quality requirements (GB/T19352.3); Quality requirements for thermal spraying structures Part 4: Basic quality requirements (GB/T19352.4); Table 1 is a guide for selection. Annexes A and B give further information for selection and the essence of Parts 2, 3 and 4 of this standard.

GB/T19352.1-2003/ISO14922-1:1999 Control and testing are means to avoid the use of components with insufficient quality on site. Establishing a quality assurance system is a prerequisite for batch manufacturing and ensuring that components or parts are completed on time without unpredictable time delays, rework and other supplementary measurements. Establishing an effective quality assurance system is initially expensive, but in the long run it is to ensure high quality at an appropriate price. Usually, a manufacturer establishes a quality system and undertakes contracts and components consistent with its quality assurance system. Chapter 4 lists the applicable standards, which are the basis for establishing and defining the thermal spray quality assurance system. These standards can become a powerful means to promote technological progress. 3
